The Michaux State Forest received its name from the French botanist Andre Michaux, who explored this area extensively in the late 1800s. With over 82,000 acres spanning three counties, Michaux offers the outdoor enthusiast lots of places to explore. The trailhead is located across from Pennsylvania’s oldest tree nursery, which was started in 1902 and still produces 2 million trees annually....
