The ride starts out on the dirt road, but becomes steep and paved after a half mile. The paved section is a 20 percent grade and thankfully only lasts a half mile. The road reaches a summit at mile .85 and the pavement ends. The road drops for .6 tenths of a mile and then begins a long gradual climb towards Grand Mountain. The views get better and better as the road winds around the mountain....
