This trail is strenuous. It is long and requires a good deal of climbing, and can be quite hot in the summer. There is steep, rocky terrain that includes technically challenging sections. It is know locally as the Fiberboard Freeway. Starting at 7200', trail drops off towards Lake Tahoe with a mild 2 mile descent, then a moderately steep climb for 3 miles toward Tahoe City.
