About 18 miles northeast of Flagstaff, on the Little Colorado River in the Painted Desert. This is a scenic ride through the Painted Desert to a seasonal waterfall on the Little Colorado River. The best time of year to see the falls is in late spring during the snow runoff for early morning, when the low angle light brings out the pastel colors of the sedimentary rock.
